I had a closer look at it this evening, and unfortunately i found several more problems. Several resistors were burned almost completely away and at one place the circuit boards were cracked. Therefore, i decided not to keep it...

DONE! (except the videotaping). I removed the chassis in case i need parts for another set later, and dropped the cabinet with the CRT 4 meters down in a concrete floor. The cabinet and CRT was completely shattered. The only recognizeable parts was the safety glass, the speaker and the electron gun from the CRT.
