Im geting the Bewitched series from Netflix these days. Just received disk 2 of the first season. I'm enjoying all of these shows allover again, as I didnt see the B/W shows when the TV station I worked at ran the series. They only ran the color shows. Im still against colorization. Especially old cartoons.

Anybody else noticing that the main titles on the B/W shows show a copyright date of 1966? These titles were used with the color shows. Old 16mm B/W prints say 1964 or 1965 Screen Gems, Inc. on them. Columbia used to do that alot. They'd make up generic main title segments for their syndicated shows.

A glaring example is the old HAZEL series with Shirley Booth. The syndicated title shows Hazel with some groceries, the Baxters yuckking it up at what they are seeing, and the Harold kid throwing confetti. The original titles would feature the FORD car that she drove. Plus, the music on the syndicated version is the dorky music used on the FINAL season episodes. The original music almost matched what played over the end titles.

Since they released this stuff on DVD, I think they should have made them as original looking as they could, unless they were plugging products, like Chevys on Bewitched, which they did everytime they drove a car!

Ever notice how much they drank on the show? My favorite line is: "Have another drink, Larry."
