Jeff, I can vouch for the made in Mexico Zeniths - I owned a 1985-or-so 13" portable color Zenith which had a brilliant picture, simply amazing, and it would never die! I gave it to a relative out in Jersey and it still works quite well, they tell me. I distinctly remember it being made in Mexico, and was a knob-tuner without remote.
