I am currently in a "fight" with the express courier to have a bit of justice for the damage I have had and they seems willingly to pay me.. wish me luck!!
I always used lighter fluid without any issues, a dear friend of mine uses it to clean vintage guitars (yes, those american ones...). Of course you must not smoke when you are doing this kind of cleaning, be sure that the EHT is discharged BEFORE cleaning
and use common sense!!
The cabinet is currently in the hands of a friend expert in this kind of restorations, but he says that the damage is expecially nasty because of the construction... He was even thinking about making a new one for me

I have forgot to mention in my first post that I had to hand-rewind the power autotransformer, not too bad of a job...
