I can recommend it highly. It's a fun project, and the scanning discs Peter supplies are excellent, giving great pictures once you add your own motor and electronics. You can get an inexpensive video source from a CD player and the CDs offered by the narrow band TV association. And you can later consider getting a scan converter (more expensive) to display NTSC sources; or build a live camera (more difficult than the receiver, however).
