That's probably why they used 'em-could pick 'em up cheap back in '69 or '70 when they actually made this movie. Who knows ? Maybe the prop guy's brother-in-law ran a TV repair shop & had a bunch of roundies layin' around that he couldn't otherwise get rid of. Or they were "mustered out" from the engineering dept at UCLA, or a gov't agency & ended up in this flick. Doesn't matter-they're there & they look cool.-Sandy G.
