I found a mint-in-box Panasonic AM pocket radio from the early Seventies at an antique shop. It is a simple six transistor set powered by two AA batteries. The plastic is super thick and durable. It has great Seventies styling and good performance, typical of Panasonic. It is definitely a radio you could use every day.
