About 20-25 years ago I also had a Zenith identical to that one, except in a different color cabinet. This must have been a very popular set if it was offered in several different cabinet styles, with the same basic chassis. Mine went for several years with no problems and an excellent picture on rabbit ears in my area (near-fringe for Cleveland TV), until the horizontal AFC system developed a problem (bad tube, I guess--I'll never know now, as I got rid of the set shortly before it started acting up). It was an excellent set while it lasted, though. One of the most solidly built portable TVs I've ever seen, and with a transformer power supply. The only other portable b&w TV I ever owned with a transformer supply and a 5U4 rectifier was a 1960s vintage RCA, which I inherited after my aunt got a color set in the late 60s-early seventies. Those older sets weighed a ton, but were built like tanks, worked very well and were made to last; not like the newer series-string portables that came along in the '70s with everything on a PC board.
