It was garbage day today.. managed to find a Flat panel crt RCA TV from 2006...brand new never used ! unbelievable !
still has the owner registration card ontop !

Given today's throwaway mentality, I'm not all that surprised. Nevertheless, a NOS TV of any age in the trash is a neat find. I would keep all the packing material and display it if I were you.

We still have a brand new in box 21" Magnavox tv/dvd combo.....
Wife earned it from selling Avon back in '06?? Been sitting by
the front door for years, now it's kind of a table for crap.....
It looks a lot like that tv, but taller.... There has to be lots
of instances like that out there.... They got it as a gift and it
just sat around till they moved, or cleaned out stuff....

I'd love to know who actually made that set. By 2006, I think all sets were coming out of China.

Nice set .They are dumping CRT TVs everywhere.People dont like pix tubed TV''s anymore.They got brainwashed by the media and the environuts on how dangerous tube TVs are. The DTV switchover did help matters on people dumping them.

The other day.I picked up a nice clean working 1993 Toshiba 19 inch A/V monitor TV from the curb still with the cord attached and a sign that said "Free .It Works" on the way to the store.Not bad for a 22 year old set.

I got a couple of those type flat tube sets with built in DVD players.

I looked at the back of my RCA prison-vision. Circa 2008.
It shows something like TCC electronics, China. I think, it's made in the old RCA plant in Taiwan.
A lot of techs say, they're lousy sets, but you couldn't prove it by me!
I have several, including the one shown and they all work rather well. Most can tune digital stations, without a converter.

I've tried to give away a like new Emerson 13" stereo TV/DVD to no avail. Has remote, rabbit ear antenna and manual too.
Has great reception off cable and the image off DVD is amazing. Anyone that wants it can come over and get it!

Yea I dont really like FLAT ANYTHING..I prefer the original Curved Screen

That RCA looks like a larger version of the 13-inch CRT but digital sets from the same era. I grabbed three of them a couple of years ago from a recycler/reseller who had a bunch of them, for $10 each.

They are made by TCL, the current owner/renter/whatever of the RCA brand name for TV sets.

Mine says, TTE Technology with an Indiana and Canadian address. It does say, "Made in China".
I have the 20" model, that looks the same as the one found and it tunes OTA and cable digital channels.
IIRC, it was a GW special. Clean and works well.

All of my TVs are curved-screen.

The only new TV I ever bought and ever will buy was a 20" flat-CRT Sanyo that had a shadow mask doming problem right out of the box. I put up with it because getting it home was such a challenge. The taxi driver saw the box, shook his head and drove away. However, a Wal-Mart employee was a lot nicer than the cabbie and took me home with it for free. That set got curbed when I got the Sony that got me into this hobby. I made the mistake of choosing the Sanyo over a much nicer Toshiba just because the former's menu could be accessed without the remote. Last year I found the identical Toshiba at a thrift store for 2 bucks. I got it for my mom to take the place of a Toshiba that is smaller but otherwise identical.
