Differences between 20" RCA A51A CRT's?

I have an RCA CTC 166 that has chroma smearing. I am trying to rule out the cause. I think the CRT is good, but without a CRT tester I have no way to be certain.

Today I found an RCA CTC 146 set with a near identical CRT in it.

The CTC 166 has an A51ACG14X01 CRT in it.

The CTC 146 has an A51ACG14X02 CRT in it.

What I want to know is can I swap these CRT's?

It's been a long time, but I think the last digits has to do with yoke differences if these are bonded yoke types. May be impedance, or if the wires plug onto the yoke, or the yoke has wires that plug onto the chassis. May also be a difference if the corner mounting flanges are flush with the front of the screen or recessed slightly.

The yoke assemblies look the same and have the same hookups. Mmm the neck boards are different, but I don't think that would stop it from working.

I know with older tube equipment, you can substitute all kinds of CRT's in a set. But with this early 90's solid state stuff I want to make sure I can use this CRT/yoke combo.

Apparently the only differences between the A51ACG14X01 A51ACG14X02 CRT's is different connectors for the degauss coil and dag ground assemblies. So I reused the ones from the original CRT.

The CRT swap was otherwise very easy. Same mounting setup, and no need to do purity or convergence setup because with the bonded yoke, you just unplug and plug in connectors that are keyed. Pretty hard to mess up.
