RCA Victor Factory Montreal 1944...
Here's a gallery of images inside an RCA factory in 1944. What they are building is, I guess, radios for the war effort...

BTW, I don't think RCA in New Jersey even existed during World War II, since most radio manufacturing was shut down tighter than a drum for the duration of the war. As I understand it (I am 66 years old and had not been born yet when WWII began), radio repair shops were doing makeshift repairs on radios just to get them working (in some cases just enough to get local stations) at that time, due to lack of proper repair parts.

"RCA's main plant was in Camden, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City."
Camden New Jersey is outside of Philadelphia. Another Big Name was Campbell Soups in Camden. I'm 66 also and grew up in Philly... |

Thank you very much for the correction. I'm glad you pointed that out (that Camden. NJ is outside Philadelphia, not NYC). I don't know where I got the idea Camden was a New York suburb, but then again I was never much good with geography. I guess this will teach me to check a map and find out exactly where these places are before making a definite statement as to where they actually are located.

RCA Victor radios and televisions in Canada were manufactured in the factory in Montreal Canada. Not Camden New Jersey.
The photos were taken in the Canadian factory. |
