Understatement of the Year

"Not sure if it works, I Doubt It"

Me, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a sheet of paper where the CRT should be?

And the best part? It's only 400 bucks.

He obviously is giving the buyer a discount of $89.95 for the missing picture tube. Whataniceguy.

This guy just doesn't have a clue how to sell things effectively on eBay. He currently has 10 other items and none of them have a single bid as he has ludicrous opening bid amounts on all of them.

It would also be nice if he at least listed the brand name (model name or number would've helped too).

Sum peepull.

I wondered about that too, sure looks like paper.
$400 is a bit steep for a T-120 also.

theres paper on there because if you put a candle inside you can do shadow puppets into the paper with your hand.

LOL

I got a shadow I want to show the seller, looks just like a hand flipping him the bird.

You're Number ONE!

HA!!!!!! My big pet peeve are these sellers that have a huge opening bid on items that are not worth it. I also watch them relist and relist and relist. Last night I saw an RCA 12" B&W from the late 70's early 80's with an opening bid of $60.00 and this is like its 4th time listed. Also there is a color RCA 2000 that is on its 3rd listing.

Andy, OMG!! I would not have believed it it I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Someone thinks they are going to get $200.00 out of a CRAPPY old RadarRange? A used store in my hometown has a ton of these and you can't GIVE them away. Can you imagine what the shipping would be on it??? I wasn't even that dumb when I was a "newbie" on eBay.

Regarding the picture of the tv--either I am extremely naive or I need new glasses, or my monitor is screwed (a distinct possibility with either of the last two), but when I first saw this one, I didn't think there was paper where the CRT should be--just that the screen was disgustingly dusty.

First post from a lurker (who doesn't have many TVs either!)

I dunno - it looks like paper to me...

I just had to mention this Ebay UK ad - this Nakamichi has been on the system under different numbers for OVER A YEAR - he's easily asking ~3x what that deck's worth - dread to think what his costs have been by now:
Nakamichi CR1E

Re that RadarRange ad - technically you CAN watch "tv" on it - stick a chicken or something in the microwave section and watch it rotate - microwaves were the butt of jokes about "oh, you've got a new TV in your kitchen" etc etc over here in the UK for most of the 80s - got very boring pretty quick!

BTW - is that "poodle in a microwave" an American urban legend, or did that really happen???

For the most part the animal in the microwave stories are blown out of proportion, but has happened on a few occasions according to Snopes:

Regarding the paper in the RCA mystery, maybe I am listening to too much "ambience" music on the internet but I would swear I can see somebody playing a grand piano. Anybody else halucinating in a like manner?

And at $400 I am rich 'cause I got two of 'em!

I asked the seller:

"Yes it has a tube and your are correct there is newspaper in it as well."

So there's the answer, it has a tube.
Wonder why it has newspaper stuck in there?

I got mine for $19 but it was missing the knobs and back.
