Smile Update on my RCA Victor 6T74

Well, alot has happenned since a friend of mine picked up my tv from our friend Polaraman last May....
Been cleaning it, restroing the chassis, working on cabinet, doing repair after repair, etc...
Here is is....

Cabinet. Touch up refinnishing on molding. Re-gilded front emblem.
Totally re cleaned mask, picture tube, glass, case, chassis, found missing screws, cleaned back cover, got a brand new heavey duty cord for it.
Chassis. Re-built.
Found some mechanical shorts, poor connections, bad wires, missing parts.
I'm ready to give it another try.. First two attempts failed.

Pictures will follow:

And, that's where it stands at the moment...... Hope to try it today, again. It's been having some issues in the B+ supply....
Looking at it closely, I suspect my troubles are not over... Look at condition of damper fil wires, as one example. Another tech put these plastic sleeves on some years ago.

Picture tube is good. It's a factory made Sylvania with a frosted screen to cut back on glare.
I WILL Gett this baby playing again!!!!

Looks a lot like the set my dad had as a kid - in the 60's it was made into a bookcase. I recall their cabinet had a slight curve to the front and was slightly cleaner in look, though. Never held onto the cabinet and the guts were long gone.

The curved doors make it sound like it was the 1952 model with something like KCS 66 chassis. Would have had a 17" rect. metal tube. I have one like that that I haven't touched, outside of confirming pix tube, and flyback appear to check good, and spkr. is missing....
