Hi: Just finished re-caping a nice little RCA portable, 8-PT-7032(T), and upon powering up, a bright well focused horizontal line appeared on the crt. After checking voltages, no B+ on the vertical output transformer. A check with a meter confirmed an open primary in the vertical output transformer, part number 102046. Great audio, though!
Does anyone have a parts chassis that might have a good transformer that I could buy/trade? This is the chassis that uses a 6CG7 as vertical oscillator/output. The little guy has promise, so I will try to find a part to complete the repair. Thanks, Kevin

You could try checking to see if that open has happened where the wire leads connect to the actual winging wire used inside the transformer. Sometimes, corrosion from the rosin used to solder the lead wire to the winging wire will create an open. As you otherwise have nothing to lose with that transformer, cut the outeer wrap of the bobbin open where the leads enter to look for that. But if it smells burnt, that's probably not what took it out. In any event, be sure to replace any caps that might be leaky that would cause the output tube to draw excessive current. You don't want to burn out a replacement.

Got one in a parts chassis, the number on it's different but it uses a 6CG7 so I spect it's the same.
It's riveted on so it'll take a little work with the Dremel to get it out.

Old RCA OEM parts were marked with the drawing number. The number on the service parts list is the stock number. They are not he same. Eric's transformer is most likely correct.

Thank you all for the quick replies! Don, you are correct about the numbers. The RCA Service Data booklet for this TV lists "stock" numbers. The numbers on the transformer are: 972725-1; and below: 352622, which may be the OEM number, and date code. Eric, does this number match the one on your parts chassis?
