Hello,
I saw this picture in a book about important inventions, it had just a few sentences about TV, and no comment about the picture. This looks like a Farnsworth TV with the way the knobs are arranged, and the general cabinet design. But the cabinet looks like it is made out of clear plastic. Was this farnsworth's attempt to duplicate RCA's famout clear World's Fair TV? Anybody know more about this TV, if it is still around, it sure seems rare.

The Early Television Foundation has a wood version of this set and it's a 1945 prototype.
http://www.earlytelevision.org/farns...prototype.html I can only guess the clear one was too or maybe was a demo model of some type. Steve, if your reading this maybe you can enlighten us? |
