721TS Video Size Issues
OK, well I got the replacement (s) for the 6SN7GTB I broke in my 721TS Now I've got synched video again but it fills roughly half the screen and I can't get it to fill any more than that using any of the controls and/or adjusting the magnet on the CRT. Anyone have any ideas? I'd hate to just leave this one in the garage since it's such a cool set.

I think it was done (at least to some degree) when I bought it from Vaughn. I have never attempted a re-cap myself. I have to decide whether or not I think I can do it. Though I guess compared to the public as a whole I am handy, compared to most on this forum I am much less technical and have no formal training...

You said you bought it from Vaughn 15 years ago and have had it in storage the past 5 years. Thats more than enough time for even replaced capacitors to go leaky from non-use. If he only particially recapped it (such as just replacing the filter caps) to just get it functional, then you got to look at it like its never been done as there are still 60 year old caps in there. It needs to be gone thru just as LJB mentioned. If your unable to or feel incapable of doing this yourself, there are a few restorers in Fla that may be able to do this for you. If you dont feel comfortable doing anything besides replacing tubes and adjustments..its best to just leave it alone. There are several parts in that set that are no longer available or extremely hard to get and by running it in its current state isnt safe until it gets checked out. Good luck!
