I think that it is interesting that the seller *will* ship the set.... "I PACK VERY WELL , YOUR ITEM WILL BE DELIVERED WITHOUT DAMAGE". This is a fairly bold claim, since we have all seen examples of what can occur when vintage sets are shipped.
 Perhaps the wood cabinet is fairly rugged, and will withstand shipping ok.... Anybody here with experience shipping this model?jr

IIRC three of these sets popped up on eBay last Feb-Apr including a blond. Maybe it's a spring cleaning thing ?

I got in a Big Way a few years back & was gonna buy one for $1K, had myself all talked into it, but it had already been sold...IIRC, it was a blond one, too.. I guess its just as well...What was I thinkin', a 7" B&W that I really couldn't watch very much, & would likely give lots of trouble, & I was gonna give a kilobuck for ?!? Must be MAD...Bet this 'un on Da Bay blows a kilobuck right outta the water...(grin)

that's a new eBay record, the next highest was $2200 or something like that and that was several years ago, typically they go for $1200 give or take a little.

Safely shipping 621's
I had shipped 2 of the 621's we bought at a local estate sale and sold on ebay, last spring. They can be shipped fairly easily in one box or two, within the USA and overseas (I've shipped at least half a dozen in the last few years).
For this model, you can remove the CRT and then pack and ship the CRT within the wooden cabinet in a box, with the chassis in a separate box. However, I prefer to ship in one box: Loosen the front mask and put packing between the CRT and glass, then re-install the mask. Very carefully and tightly pack around the CRT, and around the chassis inside. Bubble wrap the TV and use triple-wall cardboard, tape around the edges, and then more bubble, and put into a larger box. This has worked well--I've never had a 621 damaged in shipping...but UPS and FedEx can break a solid lead weight inside a steel barrel...so nothing is guaranteed. I shipped a console TV to New England (from NJ) several years ago, it was smashed and FedEx wouldn't pay my claim--they said their conveyor belts are up to 60 feet high, and if my console couldn't withstand a 60 foot fall, then it wasn't packed properly!! Gotta love 'em!
