I was just looking over other stuff on that site and boy is it full of mistakes , i didn't read the whole thing but some things were - admiral tv with 80 lines of resolution - tv sets filled with tubes the size of a ketchup bottle - sets breaking down ( not my mom's 621 in the 40's-almost 60's ) - star trek cancelled in its third season and space 1999 started up , nope that was 5 years later or something in that time frame, plus other things, i like the commercial

Well I want a full complement of tubes capable of providing the best picture in my new TV !!! And I want my new tv to have a FULL 44MHZ bandwidth! ! ! I'm tired of seeing "no signal" flying around on a dam frekin blue screen. and those stupid blocks whenever an airplane flies overhead! ! ! I want a Dam Black Tube Westinghouse ! ! ! !

Westinghouse was going after a different angle than Muntz was...

If the FCC kept channel 1, then we wouldn't be able to do a 44MHz IF as channel 1 would have overlapped the same spectrum.
