Magnavox 20" TV needing some attention

Hello everyone,

I have a 20" Magnavox STAR TV, with DBX Stereo speakers, model number RH4350 WA01 on the back. Set is from 1986.

Over-all it works great, other than some bleeding red on parts of the picture, more so upper right than anything. Almost as if the convergence was going out of line. (Which is something I could mostly fix on my Sony FW900 computer CRT).

Is it possible to fix it with this Magnavox? I wish to keep the set in great use for my classic gaming needs.

*EDIT*

Yeah, definitely appears like a convergence issue, looking at it from LEgend of Zelda on here.

To preform proper convergence on a TV you need to obtain a dot/crosshatch pattern generator or obtain/burn a test pattern DVD with those patterns and a green field(if your doing convergence you should probably do the purity adjustment too). Some prefer to converge with dots, some with a crosshatch grid(which I prefer). If your computer monitor and TV both use inline gun type color CRT's then the convergence procedures are likely the same, and you can use what you learned on the monitor on the TV.
Getting a copy of the Sam's Photofact service data for the set might also help as they usually outline the convergence procedure.

Yes it can be fixed. When talking NAP sets ( Magnavox, sylvania
philco & Phillips) use the chassis number. Its what we relate to. If you need a Sams I just got a set & will be selling them off. PM me. I also
may have the NAP training manual for it.
Look on the chassis & see if there are any rubber wedges that fell off the
yoke. If so you can see where it came from usually, its just a matter of how far to bend the yoke.
When done there are some connections in the HV / hoz area that
should be checked, if they go it can be destructive.
When done you will have a daily watcher.
