1986 Zenith Advanced System 3 color in and out

I recently fixed this set after having high voltage issues. Now when i turn it on, the color doesn't look quite right and then after awhile, it'll go to black and white. Turning it off and on will correct the problem only for a few minutes and then goes back to black and white. A some time, doing that no longer has any effect.

1)The control panel that has the color/bright/tint etc on
most of these sets had PCB's printed on both sides.
The feed thrus would get cold joints. Resolder them.
Can usually be found by tapping. Whenever you see these
double sided boards on any TV suspect them especially for
intermitants. They put many steaks on my table..........

2) Check whatever bandswitching it has such as TV-HRC -IRC
& AFC NORM-SPCL. Try different settings.

3) Early versions had plug in IC's on the main board.
Just push down on them when it craps out & see if it comes
back. You usually dont see IC sockets in TV's, they are less
reliable than the IC's unless you use good ones that costs
too much.

Keep us posted
