Ge 811

I got a free GE 811 off craigslist last week, 10bp4 test really strong.[/IMG]I was really only hoping for a usable crt for my GE Locomotive, but now this thing is calling my name to fix it.

That looks a LOT like atv I won off of ebay a few years ago...but I failed to pick it up due to some family difficulties and then lost track of it. I KNOW it was an 811 GE set--seems like somewhere in that area too. I ALSO won an arvin table model 21-550 or so set form the same area--around the same time...and lost track of it too. I REALLY wanted that arvin set !!

Are you sure it's a 10BP4 and not a 10FP4?

GE used the Aluminized version in some of their early sets like the 803 and some of the Locomotives.

Chassis looks just okay, slight surface rust but nothing too bad. I did a slow power up with amp meter in line and got a full raster. I think it would be a fairly easy fix. The cabinet has a few chips but mostly just worn off finish.

Now I know who beat me to that set. I saw the ad after 9PM that night, and of course the set was gone by the time I got there.

BTW: Congratulations!

You never know, it could be the same set. I never talked to the people ,they just had it on the curb.

I think so. Its a GE tube with he double ion trap, but I really didn't see 10bp4 marked on it.

If it's got a trap then probably a BP4, still an awesome find!
