Philco 50t1400 pic question

Hi all, got an interesting issue with my re-capped 50t1400.It plays very nice with a strong pic when first turned on.After 20-30 minutes the pic starts to dim and then I lose the pic and can't get it back with any type of adjustment. The pic is there but not visible and looks scrambled. The sockets were cleaned with de-oxit etc.Now....the biggie here is where do I start trying to run this down? Bad tube, bad "new" cap, resistor? I don't have a scope so trying to pinpoint may be dicey. If any of you experienced tech's can point me in a direction? If the set is cold it plays perfectly..........I know I know this can be a pain to find. With the pic getting dim that may be a clue??
