1987 JVC high end model av monitor/receiver
Model number AV-2687S. Seen this listed on Craigslist several days ago at an estate sale and couldn't resist. Ended up being a 2 hour trip one way but I'm glad I got it. Probably more for my NES than anything. Paid $30 with original remote. Glass in front with aluminum door below and the speakers have doors on them. Heavy too

I'm not a very tech guy, meaning I know some specs, but not more. But this tv is very nice. That's what I can say. And I see that you enjoing it. Nowdays sets aren't so impresive.

I think it's the same as the knobs on other sets labeled as sharpness

Nice set. Not a lot came in. Sets from the 80's were the best.
Still well built & had most of the important features. It is sharpness. If you have a snowy or grainy pix just back it down. Cuts down on the high freq response of the video amp. 73 Zeno ![]() LFOD !

I always thought 80s were the best. Seem to last forever.

Nice one. Its got S Video on the rear panel off to the right, correct?
And that skew control on the front; that is something I have only seen on high end VCRs of the time, to fix flagging/bending on the top of the picture. Anyone know if that's what this is? Definitely a top set of the day |

But does it haves separate chroma connectors for each one of the colours?

These sets don't have that, usually only the JVC pro monitors did. The HR- series was a spectacular build. I personally would take late eighties JVC over Sony for much of their video equipment including cameras. I think they were dead-set on using S Video for consumer due to their firm hold on the S/VHS patents and they were making fine y/c separators in the video machines at the time. Perhaps the best in the world.
