DAMNIT! I missed it by a matter of hours. Thanks anyway Eric for looking out for me. Actually somebody gave me a useable nameplate but I still need the small control knobs, and a CRT just for the record. The chrome nameplate would not be correct for my set anyhow. My set is kind of plain Jane with the plain brown and gold trim. No britework except in the center of the channel and volume knobs.
Again thanks for the try! |

No problem T.J.
You might just want to start over with a fresh set? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...746462285&rd=1 |

Hey, too bad I live a long way from Kansas. That set is very different than mine.I think mine is a bit older. Still a cool set. I dont think I will buy another unless it is exactly like mine or similar with the same CRT. Mine is showing wear after being on a brightener for 23 years that I know of. It came with it when I bought it in 82. . Sad to sat I fired up the old Philco watched the first Tonight Show to be aired without Johnny Carson in this world to make us laugh.

That Philco is the one called "Philco Miss America", right? Model year 1955, here in Brazil was manufactured from 56 till about 58 ( I think ). Mine is a console, 21 inch model. Uses the "TV-350" chassis. I'm DYING to find the flyback for this television, I have an "Elvis 56" DVD that I want to watch on it. If anyone have a clue on where or how to find this flyback, PLEASE tell me. Or else, if anyone knows somebody who recovers flybacks at reasonable prices.

Have you tried Moyer for the flyback? http://www.moyerelectronics.com/ |

I agree with Captain Video on 56-58. There's no way its a 53. I say 57 but nothing to back it up. It is definitly more futuristic looking than my plain brown wrapper 56 model.

Thanks Eric. I pulled the contrast out a bit too far in attempt to make the globe of the tossed salad LavaLite on top of the set viewable. They actually made a Lava lamp with a plastic flower arrangement made to sit on the base. Hideous! Somehow less hideous sitting on the Philco. That thing may be a collectors item. Who knows? That little brown box on the right is a Regency signal booster which is not hooked up or needed due to the Philcos very strong built in antenna. I have too many toys!
