Here's what I told Marcell in reply, which may also be of interest to anyone else who has one...

I collect Kaye-Halbert sets, and I have enough knowledge on them so I should be able to identify yours. They were kind of rare outside of Southern California. They were a "fad" among the Hollywood people. The chassis was reasonably good quality, but the best was the cabinetry. Kaye-Halbert went to Karpen and other well-known cabinetmakers to get some very high quality cabinets made. Their marketing technique was to get the biggest stars at the time to own and brag about them in ads. (Dorothy Lamour, Alan Ladd, Joan Bennett, Barbara Stanwyck, John Payne, etc etc) They had about 6 basic models each of which was designed for and endorsed by a celebrity, each one with several choices of wood type, finish color, and piture tube size. The bulk of their models were fancy consoles, but they also made some very basic table models.
