Got me a "new" little guy...

It's an Admiral 10" "suitcase " portable from the early-mid 60s, model # HH5 PG1129, run 18. It wants very hard to work, the raster ALMOST fills the screen. I dunno, I saw it on You-Know-Where, & it just kinda "talked" to me, wanting to come live in my house. I'm a sucker for "cute" little old hopeless electronics, what can I say ? And this lil guy is just ADORABLE beyond words... Yeah, I know...I'm sick !!! -Sandy G.

You're not sick, just a man in desperate need of a digital camera!

Sandy,

Radio Shack has very nice digital cameras now for well under $100. They call them "Flatfoto" cameras because the things are extremely flat and small, about the size of a credit card; these cameras use small lithium batteries that charge from your computer's USB port (the cable to connect the camera to your computer is included). I have had a Flatfoto camera for about a year now and am very pleased with it; picture quality is good for such a small little rascal (1.3 megapixels), although I have image-retouching software I often use to fix certain problems like crooked pictures and so on--all of the pictures I've uploaded to AK were taken with this camera. The camera has a built-in flash and will store up to 90 pictures on its built-in memory card; there is also a slot for an external memory card if you need more storage space. The newest models have a small color LCD preview screen that shows the image you are about to photograph. While this camera is not the equal of a $400 5-megapixel or better digital model, it is adequate for casual photography, such as grabbing pictures on a moment's notice (I have used mine on several occasions to get pictures of my cat in adorable and downright cute poses).

If you get Radio Shack's flyer, the Flatfoto camera should be in it. If you look on RS's web site, www.radioshack.com, it should be listed there as well. Better yet, if you have a Radio Shack in or near Rogersville, you can check these out in person. For occasional casual photo snapping, the Flatfoto (IMHO) cannot be beat. With one of these cameras, you can take a picture of that small TV you're telling us about so we can see just exactly what the thing looks like.

Kind regards,
