At an estate tag sale in River Edge NJ Dec 1st, saw an RCA B&W 12 or so inch Tv set for $25, "as is". A console with doors that hide the CRT and knobs, but not the speaker grill. I don't have room for it myself. I mention this in case anyone in the NYC area might be interested.
Things that go bump in the night... Turns out the local paper (Bergen Record) did an article on estate sales and how older people living in the same house over 60 years accumulate a lot of stuff. The above estate sale was used as an example, and there was this picture of that TV set. It was a bit startling to realize that I was there, and yes, they did have a lot of old stuff. Hopefully someone who reads this paper will want to go to the trouble of contacting the people who have it to buy it...

That looks like my beloved TC-127 that I restored early this year. Still going strong and really sets off the living room. Those old RCA's are tough. I hope someone saves this one. I also have an 8T-243 that I have often mentioned being ugly. Ugly as it may be I think I will try to finish it up this Winter. Evidently the 243's are fairly desirable.
