Free antique TV's

I have a 1954 Philco TV, radio, phono console with owners manual. Picture tube is not original and bad. I also have a 1960? Bradford TV, radio, phono cosole with a loud hum on the radio which I assume is a bad tin can capacitor. I will have to throw these out at the end of the month which is ashame since they've survived this long. My dad is the original owner of the Philco and I was only three at the time of purchase. Save these sets. Come get them. I live in Chicago.

The clock is ticking....

Douglas,

That is kind of you to think of saving these. C'mon guys, there must be someone in the Chicago area that can give these vintage sets a new home!

It turns out the Philco is a 1951, not a 1954. I can get a NOS CRT for it for $50. Part of the TV circuit on the Bradford is solid state so I kept the audio section as a first tube set for my 16 yo nephew. I replaced the wooden bottom with clear plastic so the under chassis wiring can be seen to make it educational. The rest was thrown out but I can't scrap the Philco. It's a classic.
