It was recommended to me that I try Terry Dewick who is also a supporter of the forum. I haven't got around to boxing up and shipping to try that option myself yet.

The answer might depend on whether you are willing to ship the radio and where you are located. Also is the radio American or European? Some guys don't like to work on the Euro sets.

It's actually a friend of mine who is asking. I don't think it's a Euro set, and yes, he is willing to ship.

Terry has taken more than a few "Sow's Ears" from me & turned 'em into Silk Purses..Plus, he's VERY reasonable.

Check your local antique radio club. Always an excellent resource. Check link below for one near you:

Another thing for me about Terry is he's 75 miles away in Knoxville...We try to get to Knoxville about once a month, everything we want/need is out on Terry's end of town. I don't hafta worry about UPS/Fedex shipping goons...I just toss stuff in the back of The Mighty Valdez, & off we go...There's also a Fresh Market, a Panera's, & several other places Lauriann likes to go out reasonably close to Terry's, it just really works out well. The biggest problem at Terry's is forcing yrself to go, Terry is so fascinating to talk to, a couple, 3 hours can fly by before you realise it...

Greg, the NARC club might be able to help you out if you are looking for a place to get a radio repaired. I just went to the fall swap meet they had today and there were plenty of friendly people there.

Maybe you could try contacting one of the members and see if they could help you out.
