Bad news everyone.
I got laid off again in July. Having been unable to find work, what I'm getting on unemployment makes a physical move necessary. I will have my place vacated Sunday and some of my sets in storage. The area I am moving to is not served by my current web provider, so my site may be down for a while. I will also be offline for a while. Hopefully, I'll find something soon.

I've been there too often myself. Good luck. Do all the usual headhunters and such, but don't use pay sites, they're scams. What kind of work do you do?
Now that you said HVAC, I imagine you might participate in tradesman forums similar to http://www.electrical-contractor.net/ (this one is for electricians, but I've seen them mention the existence of HVAC forums). Such a forum may have a job category.

HVAC. Thanks everyone. At least where I'm going will be rent free. I will finally be able to bank some dough. I will find something. There is a possibility my former employer may have work available. I will volunteer to be on call. The only thing that could stop ne is lack of space. That's what storage is for. This is a new beginning.

Good luck, man. I have enjoyed meeting you at ETF conventions.
Every life has ups and downs. I have gone through a couple of downs in the last year or so. If bad things never happened, we'd have nothing to measure against what's good :-) Phil |

I wish the best for you, and speaking from my own (fairly recent) experiences, it always looks worst right before you get a break... Hopefully you will get one soon! I was pretty far down the toilet (all credit cards at max, living in a rented mobile home, etc etc) when I was trying to keep making a living in TV repair, as I had done just fine from age 18 to about age 35. Once I admitted to myself that it's no longer a viable career, I opened my eyes to other things. In your case, HVAC is definitely a career with a powerful future. It's probably just in a lull because of the economy and housing. I have a friend who was a self-employed HVAC contractor, and he has temporarily taken a full time job with the Ramada Hotel chain as the in-house HVAC man. When the economy gets better, he'll restart his own business.
