Help with old Auto-Lite Capacitors

I have a 1930's Rogers-Majestic (made in Toronto, Canada) Console Radio Type 6M631. I haven't had any luck finding any mention of this model on the internet anywhere. No specs, no schematic diagrams, none for sale, not a picture. I'd like to do a recap and I've managed to read the values from the actual caps for 8 out of 11 of them. The last three are 2 inch axials made of paper with well sealed resin? ends and have nothing on them except 'Auto-Lite', 'Tiger' and a 5 digit part number (each one has a different part number). I'm guessing they were added at some point.

Is there any way to determine the value of these through looking up the old Auto-Lite part numbers somewhere? I haven't found anywhere yet.

If not I'll probably end up leaving them in and hoping for the best rather that guessing at the mf values for them.

Even though they probably need replacing, they might still be good enough to test for the capacitance value if you have access to a capacitor tester.

You might also post your question on www.nostalgiaair.org if you haven't already. Although the noise level is a bit high over there, there are quite a few knowledgeable people. They might point you to a schematic also.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a capacitor tester on my digital multimeter, but I wasn't sure if it would use enough voltage to get an accurate reading from one of these old caps which are used to having 400-600v through them.

I also posted over in nostalgia air so I'll see what happens over there.

Looks like Justradios.com has a schematic for this radio. It should be arriving in the mail soon.
