Saved a Zenith 24Mc32 a few days back.
While heading to a call for a big screen, I spotted an old TV set. I was NOT able, at first glance--to tell what kind of set--or if it was a roundie, or rect. But I KNEW I was probably a "keeper"--and if not for me--I figured someone else could find a home for it. So, when we came back about 20 minutes later, I got a GOOD look at the back of the set. I WAS a roundie--and later, I came back for it.
Turned out to be a Zenith 1965 model chassis 24Mc32. It is the "plain jane" cabinet, with legs made into it, I think. ONE little speaker under the Tuners. A pix of one similar is on another thread. The cabinet is NOT bad--but not great.ALL knobs are there--and the door on bottom too. It looks like it got some moisture and there are some bad scratches on top. The CRT does NOT appear to have many--if ANY cataracts--and may NOT be original--as it has a "white tint" and not the "greenish Zenith" look. Other than no back--and a bent-over HO tube--it looks unmolested. It is still in the van right now--with that FLat-panel Samsung next to it. I do NOT really have room for it-- I need to put my CTC-44 and such in my garage anyway as it is--but I could NOT let it get the "Heil treatment" and so--I saved it. I would probably trade it--for something like a CTC-74/81 direct address set.

Would you consider parting it out? I could use the convergence assembly on the CRT neck, vertical output transformer, etc. I would gladly buy the whole chassis and pay for shipping. I need some spares to keep my old girl roundie running.

Ok. after Over a month in the van--the set is now in my garage. IT WILL be parted out WHY?? Someone decided to do some "cutting" of various wires that run from the chassis to the tuner, controls, yoke--etc. They are just GONE altogether. And the top of the cabinet is not too good. Not totally trash--but not too good.
The CRT is NOT original. it has a "Channel Master "something" II" , 21FBP22/21GVP22, I think, label on it and a date--August 1979. I KNEW it was not the old one. NO cataracts noticable. I may indeed keep this tube, and sometime put it in my 29JC20. It has a weak red gun. No matter what--the tube WILL be saved. The chassis will be kept, in it's entirety. 24MC32. The tuners, yoke and all else--including knobs--will be spared. of course--I MIGHT be willing to keep the whole set intact, in case someone wanted the challenge and had something I wanted, Such as a RCA CTC-74/81 direct address set, a CTC-49, a Zenith 1Y22b55 BW set from 1968, or perhaps some other things.

You have to watch those Channel master rebuilds, I've had terrible luck with them. The quality seems to be quite a bit lower than other rebuilds. Had three, all bad. Good luck on saving what you can, hate to see 'em parted out.

Ditto on those Channel Master CRTs..
Shortly after I started out on my own in repair (1985), I put a Channel Master tube in a neighbors' 19" Quasar TV (Motorola built chassis). It lasted about a week. My supplier sent me another one. About a week again. The third one held on for a month or so. Finally gave up on CM and talked the supplier into a refund, and used a Sylvania rebuild. That one was still going when the customer left the area in the early 90s.
On the other hand, if yours is already over a quarter century old and still good, it might be a good one.
