Another restauration... KVN49-4 Russian TV
Hi, after a long time of silence, basically dictated by a strong disagreement with one of the moderators at Audiokarma (I'm talking back when these two sites were one and the same), I'm back, after I discovered I have more friends here than what I thought
![]() ![]() So, slowly I will post all the restaurations I have done in the mean time, hoping not to bore someone to death and if you agree, of course! Here we go, today I finished the restoration of one of the crazier TV I have the pleasure to own: a russian KVN49-4 and one of the only 2 known to exist in Italy. What is interesting about this set, apart from some of the electronics, is the cabinet, very similar to the much sought RCA 621TS and coincidentally, both are 7" round CRT... About the electronic part, what is noticeable is the horizontal part of the circuit, as it uses a G-807 tube as hor. out, half a 6N7GT diode strapped as a damper (there is no recovered energy and no B+ boosted in this TV) and a laminated iron flyback transformer, looking like a classic E-I transformer, delivering about 4,5Kv to the CRT anode. In the vertical section the peculiarity is the use of a choke as a load for the vert. output tube (half of a 6SN7GT). The RF part uses a TRF arrangement, a solution I have never seen before, but apparently it works fine for this TV. Audio output is a 6AG7 Now, as there are too many photos, I just made an album on Photobucket, so this is the link: http://s752.photobucket.com/albums/x...o/Soviet%20TV/ I hope you like this strange TV as I do Cheers Giulio |
