LOL - nice fine! Doesn't sound like that resto. project ended well.
This seller is asking $100, which I think is way too much. He's local though so I might swing by and take a look for the heck of it. |

This set looks a lot like the set that is painted silver in another thread...perhaps it is a Meck also ?

Perhaps. He's calling that one a 'General' TV. St. Charles is a pretty good hike so I won't be checking that one out. Plus, I don't think I want to deal with a seller asking $1200

I saw that and dismissed it... "that ain't no GE", but I just looked it up in the Sams index and there is one listing for a General TV model #17CG1. It is in Photofact 149-13, which would be early 1952. I have never heard of General, which appears to have been a "one hit wonder" !
