Like to find: RCA k-60 console radio

When I was a kid, we had an RCA model K-60 console radio, which was bought in late 1939. Sometime after TV came on the scene, it was placed in the basement and around 1960 was lost to water damage. My parents deemed it too far gone to keep, as, at that time, it was just an old radio and not worth much.

I have been searching for years for a replacement for this lost gem with no luck. I was wondering if anyone either has one for sale or knows of one for sale. I would hope for one with very nice cosmetics, original grille cloth, all knobs present, etc. It would be a bonus if it worked, but would not matter, provided all the major stuff would be there to make it work again.

I am located in south central Pa., near the state capitol of Harrisburg. This was a big RCA area, so hopefully there may be one or two out there that someone will be willing to part with.

Thanks much!
John Hess

The radio looks like this http://www.radioatticarchives.com/radio.htm?radio=2739

If I see one, I'll let you know. I work in Harrisburg.

The Renningers DVHRC swap-meet in May has lots of RCAs since many guys come from NJ-NY.

I am looking for an RCA 5T6/5T8, a table radio from 1937.

There was one on either the WI or MN Craigslist within the last couple weeks, but the Craigslist search function seems to be broken today. Pretty expensive to ship, though.

Here's a nice 5T8, but it's in California.

Wow, that is it Dangler. I have a very clean chassis and was even considering building a replica cabinet for it...in my spare time!

Hi DavGoodlin

Thanks for the info. That show in May sounds very interesting. Sure would appreciate it if you could keep an eye out for me. That photo in the link is exactly what I'm looking for. Nostalgia is a powerful intoxicant.

I looked at the photo of the 5T8 you're looking for...that's a neat radio. I've never seen one like that, but if I do, I'd let you know.

Thanks to everyone else who responded.
