Admiral 19A1 Sound bars on pic
Have been working on is set and it's working well. I had a lot sync buzz in the audio so thought I'd adj the 4.5mc IF the see if I could knock some of the buzz. I started with the buzz being neck and neck with the audio. After adjing the A6 and the ratio det transformer I got down to about 25 percent. It's still pretty noticeable but is a lot better.
But now I have sound bars on the pic. Any ideas to get rid of both?? http://www.flickr.com/photos/42774321@N08/3938398073/ Terry Last edited by 7"estatdef; 06-23-2013 at 10:46 PM. |

Did try retuning the LO for better pic but didn't yield much of a good result. Did however notice that as I increased the volume the bars got more intense. Got to thinking that perhaps that the audio output stage needed more bypassing. So I hung a 20mf cap from the bottom end of the output transformer to the chassis. That did the trick. Now the pic is nice and clean of the bars. Still has a little bit sync buzz but is negligible.
Terry ps Originally I was thinking that it maybe the same sort of issue Bob and Phil where talking about on their Admiral sets that cause the low volume problem. The 4.5MC If being badly out of tune/ bad mica inside the can. Last edited by 7"estatdef; 06-24-2013 at 04:55 PM. |
