Sony Trinitron tube swap SSM-14N5U
Hello all, I had this posted in the solid state tv category but I thought this one is more appropriate (Took me long enough LOL) :
Hi all, I've had this Sony SSM 14N5U industrial monitor for a few years that I got for free and it's in good working order except for a noticeable screen burn. It was a security monitor used in a store and probably not turned off ! I Would have probably tossed or parted it out but being a multi system monitor, is useful to me. I'm not above swapping out the crt , but what would be any issues to watch out for? The crt number is M34KBE11X. It is a UK built monitor made in November 1998, sold new in Canada. The picture is still sharp, bright and colour is great but with the burnt in image. Thanks for any advice ! |

If you find the same monitor a swap is easy. Just swap the CRT,
yoke & neck magnets as an assy. Since its industrial Sony may still have them new. It will also have a regular Sony part number. Format is usually #-###-###-## 73 Zeno ![]() LFOD ! |
