Is there any interst in New in Box 1950's Era CRT Picture Tubes?

I buy and sell old electronics and came across these a couple months ago.

Sylvania and Griffiths 21ZP4A 21WP4A 17CP4 17HP4 17RP4 17DTP4

Not exactly sure what to do with them. They are so old they don't even have the implosion band around them. I *really* don't want to ship them. I'm in the Duluth MN area.

You can always donate them to the Early Television Museum.
Pack them up REALLY WELL, and ship them to the ETM.

you can contact them at.

BTW...
If that 17CP4 is intact and still good, some people would kill to have it, cause it's rare and highly desired.

I've got some time and money, and storage into these, I was hoping to maybe get $200 to $400 each for them, and would consider meeting someone maybe an hour and a half away if needed. Really hard to find a value on them due to how rare new in box ones are

I'm sure that some here will want them.

Perhaps bandersen , as I know he has a few sets that take metal cone tubes may need something like the 17CP4.

Metal cone? Never even heard of that - didn't even know that was a thing. Most of the boxes are still sealed, and the 1 I looked it was glass.

This says it's a metal cone type.

Prone to leaks, but rare if good.

Yes, implosion band came much later. Don't worry - these are pretty stable.

17DTP4 will work in a Predicta.

I'd take them all, but you're just too far away.

I love this TV but the 17DKP4 in it is almost dead. I've been told I won't find one because the Predicta guys use them after voltage modification. I wonder if the 17DTP4 will work in this RCA. If so, I'd be willing to make a deal.

I pass through Duluth on vacation every summer. If you still have them next spring let me know and I can get them to the ETF or another collector. Besides the predicta tube I usually can't move good testing generic monochrome tubes for over $90 unless it's one someone badly needs....And you sometimes have to wait years for that person to come along...

Case in point my friend Bob who is a member here lent me his trailer this spring so I could take a trailer load of CRTs he's been trying to sell for a decade and lost room to store as well as 2 consoles to donate to the ETF...granted he started out with 2-3x as many tubes. I got some parts I needed and my pick of the donated items in return dragging that stuff there.

If you were willing to ship I would take the 17HP4/17RP4. I could use it as a replacement for a 17BP4, which tube I've been looking for for a decade without success.

(yes, I know it would take some doing)

A decade?!? You need to get to the museum in Ohio or order from them. They will ship. I picked up a 17BP4 there last year and they have a 17Hp4 and others in stock that will sub.

If you can live with the 1" deeper than predicta 17BZP4 and are willing to drive to Milwaukee for it or meet me/have someone from your area meet me at the spring ETF (I won't trust CRTs to shipping companies) I've got a strong 17BZP4 I'd sell for what I paid $125.
