This is not....

a color tv, that is listed on eBay is it? Or is my memory failing me of what RCA sets look like in my middle age? Anyway.... I emailed the seller and told them the set they have pictured is NOT a color tv. Hope I wasn't a dumbass and passed incorrect info. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...185422683&rd=1

I'm pretty certain that that set is a b/w, not color.

Nah-- you're absolutely correct!

Actually, not only is that not a color TV, but I suspect the screen size in the description is further off than you might guess. That set looks like one my parents used to have, and it was a 9" set. It also had a detachable lead-acid rechargable battery pack that fit on the bottom of the set [which isn't present in the picture on the eBay auction]. I know RCA also made a 12" portable B&W set that had a similar design, but the one in this auction looks more like the 9" version to me. Could be wrong though!

RCA called that line of b/w sets "sportables". I still have some sales lit on them from the early seventies.
That one probably had the detachable ni cad pack at one time as well.
