RCA 630TS first picture
After replacing the burned-up power resistors, we have a picture. Nothing like supplying plate voltage to all the tubes :-)
Lots more work to do, but it's always fun to see it light up. This is an off-air broadcast, with the TV hooked up to rabbit ears. |

Glad to see you have it operating. The '630 is a good performer! And a set of historical note.

Hello Phil,
Great work. It's always nice to see a picture from a 630TS. My 630TS chassis still has a B+ short. I tried so hard to find it but I couldn't so I got fed up with it. Seeing such a pic like yours is quite refreshing and gets me motovated to get mine working. Jonathan |

Remarkably sharp picture. Good show ! Always a kick to see one of these old veterans come back to life....Wonder how long had it been "Asleep" ? Another thing, wonder why it wasn't shit-canned somewhere along the way? Just a junky old TV...Who in their right mind would want it ?!?
