Anyone recognize/know about these?

Saw these two sets sitting at a nearby cafe. I inquired, but the owner wasn't in and the serving staff didn't know anything about them.

looks like the smaller one's got an eye tube. Sorry for the quality; all I had was my cell phone camera.

I saw the second one and immediately "philco cathedral" popped in to my head, but that may just be me having read too much VideoKarma

The second pic shows hardly anything but that little job with the eye tube is interesting. The third knob is either a tone control or a bandswitch, can't tell.

I'm going to head back tomorrow to ask if the owner is interested in selling

I'll try to get some better pics if I can.

Sorry to everyone who expected better photos if I got your hopes up with this post.

Called today and the owner wasn't in. I'll keep trying though

The second one looks almost pre-war with those tiny tuning dials. As for the first, well, google images tells me it could be just about anything, since all major brands have some with similar styles. No direct matches though, so they're not that common.

Hope it's a bandswitch... I'd like a nice small FM/AM tube jobbie...

More likely BC (standard broadcast band) and shortwave.

The other one looks like a lowboy style cabinet, very common in the late 1920s and 1930s.

Neither is particularly valuable, from the look of it, so if the guy offers to sell, don't let him hold you up. You'll find comparable radios priced inexpensively at every radio swap meet.
