Zenith 16" B/W TV

On Friday I found this Zenith model J163W 16" b/w TV. It had a price of $15.00 on it, but everything was half off. Included was the original paperwork, ear buds(never opened) and the UHF antenna. In the paperwork was a letter from the appliance dealer thanking the customer for purchasing from them, as well as the sales receipt. It cost $157.24 tax included. I purchased it for $7.50 on 06/06/2014. The first owner purchased it on 06/06/1977, exactly 37 years, to the day, prior.
I got it home and tested it out. Playing Perry Mason on it via a transmitter.

Slightly out of thread: I bought a Sony Trinitron Wega, five years, to the day of the original purchase. It came with the original remote and instruction manual. Set and remote, immaculately clean! The date of purchase was written on the instruction manual, May of 2003. I bought it in 2008 for $40.00, which is a lot of money today.
It still works perfect, being used three to five hours a day, every day.

That is just way too cool. Congrats on a great find and another set that worth hanging on to for years to come. That is awesome!

Always thought that was a handsome set. The slightly tilted
CRT also shows up on the 19" & some models of
colors from 13"-25" in the mid 70's.
Nice catch

I had two 13" Zenith color sets (L1310C and another later model with electronic varactor tuning) in the same style cabinet as your b&w TV. I did not realize Zenith made a b&w set using the same cabinet as the color portables. Looking at your b&w set, I almost thought it was color until I noticed there was no AFC push button near the UHF channel selector; the L1310C does have such a button in that position. The push button on yours looks like it could have been for a Color Sentry system or such, but since the set has the slide pot volume control, that button is almost certainly the AC power switch.
