Hoping to pass on this cherry Zenith porthole set

I've had this set for more than 25 years. It's all original, including a terrific cabinet with a very fine original finish, and has had two restorations, the last one years ago. It comes with the original paperwork, including warranty dated 1950 and original manuals (it was sold new in Queens, NY).

It's worked great under gentle use for many years -- picture tube has never had a brightener -- but it's an older restoration and should go to someone who knows how to take care of it.

I've moved and have no room any more. It's in my old house, where my tenant wants me to clear it out. I can work with your shipping company or can meet you and help lift if you want to pick it up. The location is in Central Massachusetts, only a couple of minutes away from the Millbury exit of the Mass. Pike.

It would be nice to get a few bucks for it. Please let me know if you're interested and can come and get it, or have any questions.

Even at 2 bux a gallon, The Valdez still swills a LOT of gas-7-8 MPG in town, MAYBE 12-15 out on the hiway...My wife & I drove it to New England one summer, I'm thinkin' gas cost like $1500 for the trip...

HA-HA-HA- ! ! ! Whenever you talk about that thing and call it the Valdeze I think
about seeing it in that movie Waterworld..... I can't see it being the same ship, I know
it was sold for scrap just a few years ago.... I don't think anyone seeing the name
painted across the back of the ship would even know if it were the right one, and I
bet by now most would not know what happened to make it a memorable ship.....

From what I read about tanker engines they are the most fuel efficient engines
on the planet.... As far as the amount of work they get out of a gallon of fuel....
But I think they did say those engines use a few dozen gallons of fuel a minute at idle....
I think idle is 40rpm, and max is something like 200rpm..... they're on google
somewhere.... Search "Sandy's Expedition engine" 4,000 cubic inches right....?

Naw, its a 6.8 liter-413 cubic inch- V-10. Really kinda small when you remember the Ford 460s & Cadillac 500s of not THAT long ago... It would be interesting to see what kind of power could be wrung out of one of those old warhorses, using the tricks they have now.. My motor is an SOHC design, & it put out something like 300 HP, or so they said. But its designed to be smooth & compliant, which it is in spades. The Valdez weighs 7500 lbs empty, w/that weight, & a V-10, gas mileage AIN'T gonna be very good..

Yup, gas mileage is all physics, and engine size....Plus, it's pretty much a smooth brick.
My brother had a friend with a caddy and a 500. One of those cars where as you drive
down the street you could see the gas gauge move..... If you just bought gas in town,
by the time you got home, just a few miles, it was already getting close to 15/16ths of a tank....
