9qp4 crt

I've got a little GE portable set in here for service. Dead 9QP4 CRT with burned out filament. I vaguely recall seeing here at some point that lots of these sets have this problem, and that a good 9QP4 may not be easy to find? Anyone have experience with these and have any feel for the availability?

Not sure exactly. Probably around 1957 or so?

It's the only one like it!
GE only made one year of that set. The 9QP4 is a light weight, blown-glass CRT, much like the 8XP4 test tube.

I have the Hotpoint branded version of that set and it has the replacement 9QP4A tube in it. It tests good and makes a good picture. It was an easy resto with a decent result. Good luck in your search for a good CRT, there has to be some out there someplace.
