Found today: RCA VICTOR "The Judicial" HiFi Reel to Reel
Either the RCA bug has bit me or I'm screwed.
Today I picked up a RCA reel to reel, 7" center, 2 3" wing tweeters. Cool find. $25 |

RTRs ain't bad. I try to stick with late 50s and newer ¼ track stereo models (though Ive got a couple of older ones). The stereo models are nice for backing up LPs, you can also make party length mix tapes. And late in the year if you're scared your favorite radio station is going to make a change for the worse next year a few extra long tapes at low speed will capture a radio stations A to Z weekend.

I actually would like to experiment with single channel tape recording, then digitize each one (although it won't be a sanitized track, true off the tape) fed into a mixer and digitally stored. Then mix and send back to tape as a track. Just for fun to hear what happens. All for fun. Though lo-fi is the new hi-fi according to my students, it would be a fun experiment.
