27" Sony Trinitron from 1992

This set was just given to me by one of my teachers from college and the jug still looks to be in pretty good shape. If this is the one I think it is, they were bad about having poor solder connections on the degaussing thermistor and in the horizontal drive/output stages. The latter would cause the horizontal output transistor to short and blow up some parts in the power supply. Also, this may be the one with the little MTS board that would fail. I remember when several parts houses carried those little MTS boards and then it got so that nobody had them anymore. Anyway, I'll give this one a "going over" and then it's probably going to find a new home.

I think this is a little newer than the sets with the SBX module.
The thing to watch besides the usual on these is four small caps in
the converter. They would crack & blow the converter xistors
& fuseable. IIRC originals were light brown & updated caps blue ???
Anyhows we kept a bag of them on hand.

BTW SBX modules also used in some Toshiba, & either GS or Samsung. Maybe others.
