Hey thanks! It's actually the NTC thermistor that's burnt up, although I haven't check the PTC, I'll have to do that tomorrow, to make sure it's not also screwed up.

Well news. I got everything hooked up agter replacing a blown cap near the flyback. (Except the degaussing circuit, I left that unplugged). No sparks or fire. Went to turn it on and went from hearing the flyback whining to nothing, but i had power as the LED channel display was on. Then smelled a tiny burnt smell, which may have been from me cleaning off the back of the screen? I shut it off, sniffed around, nothing. Did it again, figured out it's the cable going from the flyback to the crt board, and the connector isnt making connection at the flyback, and won't make contact unless I'm pushing to the side on it, and there was only a dim glow in the tube filaments. I'm at a loss for what to do now. Also when I did push it to the side there was a lot of static electricity in the cabinet, I'm not sure if that's normal.

Oh as for the degaussing coil, whoever was in there last disabled it by disconnecting one side of the junction, so I'm assuming either it or the PTC is bad now.

Update: I was poking around the flyback some more, and it makes contact if I lightly push down on it. I'm assuming cracked solder joint.

Would the symptoms I described be indicative of a cracked solder joint?
