TVs in The Fabelmans
I saw The Fabelmans recently. In the opening scenes the father is with a lot of TVs. He's taking in TV repairs to supplement his income from a job designing computers. I think the date is 1952 so it's really early in the world of computing.
I know almost nothing of US TVs of that period. Were the sets shown correct for the period? |

Not seen the film but here's a shot from the preview.
The screen frame looks similar to: http://www.earlytelevision.org/american_14t6.html ![]() Peter

Could also be a Motorola judging from the picture of the top of the cabinet. Never heard of or seen the show.

The 'protruding' decorative ridge around the bezel shouts 'Motorola' at first glimpse.

N.b., just watch this great movie. But it bugged the hell out of me that they were mixing eras and generations of TVs. The first part of the movie takes part in 1952 but the guy has a Predicta. Come on!
