1983 RCA Color CRT- Help

I have an '83 RCA color tv that has what I would describe as a pinched banding that rolls from the bottom of the screen to the top, repeatedly. I have limited electrical and CRT repair knowledge, but I am pretty good with repairing things if I know where to find the answer. Any suggestions or known solutions? Thanks in advance.

Robert-

Welcome to Videokarma!

As Tom mentioned, it is likely a large electrolytic filter capacitor that is bad. If you have not done basic TV work and soldering of parts, look up "Phil's Old Radios" Web site. He has some excellent pages describing how to get going and what to look for. I wish you success!

My vote also for the big can. Was a common fail in the olden days.
Its a two section on most, change both.
