HV Shutdown Toshiba CX1467
Set turns on and I hear High Voltage. It then shuts down (I assume goes into protection) and HV is no more. If I try to turn on again right away, no HV. If I wait long enough, it tries to turn on again.
I am a bit at a loss as to what is wrong because there isn't any smoking components or burned components. I checked the HOR output transistor. and it looks okay by diode check. I checked the tube socket and there are no shorts. The filament looks okay and has correct impedance. Not sure where to start looking here as it shuts down pretty quickly and I'm not sure what or how to measure. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Put on variac @95 VAC. Run 10 secs, unplug & feel the hoz out be sure its not getting hot. Try longer see if it stays cool.
If HV stays hang a meter on the main B+ ( 125 V ? cant read it) turn up variac slow. If the B+ is in spec HVSD problem. If it goes beyond the 125 its a regulator problem. Zeno |

Hmmm. I don't currently own a variac. I could buy one if I have to, although I don't seem to need/use one before this.

Unplug the degaussing coil and try the "dim bulb" test. Follow Zeno's instructions.
